Second Half Surge In Semi-Finals Lifts Dolphins Men To Championship Game

After receiving a bye in the first round of the Region 10-D1 Tournament, the #1 seeded Brunswick Community College Dolphins faced off against the #5 seeded Richard Bland College Statesmen in the semifinals. The Statesmen had pulled off an upset over the #4 seeded Gaston College Rhinos on the tournament's opening day. The Dolphins struggled early against the Statesmen, trailing by 10 points at halftime, 40-30. However, a strong run to start the second half turned the tide. The Dolphins surged ahead by as many as 17 points, and despite a series of free throws from Richard Bland in the final minute, the Dolphins secured the victory with an 81-71 final score.
