Bio

Ken "Tiger" Aldrich is entering his 24th season as a member of the Brunswick CC coaching staff in the 23-24 season.  Throughout his time on the bench he has taken part in every aspect of college coaching.  His duties include, but are not limited to, practice planning, skill development, scouting, assisting with game strategy, and recruiting. His efforts have played a big part in making the Dolphins into one of the most respected Junior College programs in the country.

Prior to joining the college coaching ranks at BCC, Aldrich spent two seasons coaching at the high school level at Hoggard High School and Cape Fear Academy, both in Wilmington, NC.  Also, he spent three seasons as Head Coach of the Sandhills AAU 19 and under team in South Carolina.  While coaching Sandhills he led his teams to one State Championship and two State Runners-Up.  His teams included players: Nicky Davis (Arkansas), Roderick Blakney (SC State), James Boozer (JMU), Marcel Hough (NC State Football) and Jarvis Graham (Western Carolina). Along with his coaching duties at BCC he is also a coach in the Wilmington Waves and Flight 22 travel basketball organizations.

Before beginning his coaching career, Aldrich spent two years as a member of the men's basketball team at UNC-Wilmington of the Colonial Athletic Association.  He played for then Head Coach and current Los Angeles Clippers assistant Kevin Eastman.  While at UNC-Wilmington Aldrich served as team captain during his Senior season.  He spent his first two years of college as a basketball player at then Sun Belt Conference member, Jacksonville University in Florida, under Coach Rich Haddad.  During his freshman season at Jacksonville he was tutored by Hall of Famer David Robinson, who served as a volunteer assistant while he was completing his service in the US Navy.  At Jacksonville, he was also a teammate of former Boston Celtic and NBA Slam-Dunk Champion Dee Brown.

A native of McBee, SC, Aldrich was a standout athlete at McBee High School where he lettered in Basketball, Football, Track and Field.  Aldrich has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from UNC-Wilmington and continued with graduate studies, in the field of Social Work, at Smith College in Massachusetts.

Aldrich is married to the former Katrina Terry of Chicago, IL and they have four sons, Justin, Joshua, Jeremy and Jace.  Jeremy is currently a member of the basketball program at North Carolina Wesleyan University. They reside in Wilmington, NC.
