Dolphins split Mid-week games with Fayetteville Tech

Game 1: Brunswick Dolphins vs Fayetteville Tech 11-3 W

 

The Dolphins took the lead early and ran away with the win in the 4th inning. Savannah Birdsong took the win on the rubber, allowing only three runs on four hits. Victoria Howard went yard in the first inning to put the Dolphins up 2-0. Madison Strichek added to the score with a single to right field bringing in Annalise Rodriguez and Jenna Davis, who each earned singles with small ball action.

 

The Finz collected 12 hits on the game, which included Zoie Hamilton, Ava Hinson, and Emma Roberts. Strichek collected three hits, with Howard and Davis collecting two hits a piece.

 

Game 2: Brunswick Dolphins vs Fayetteville Tech Trojans 6-12 L

 

The Dolphins struggled to continue the hitting streak from game 1, with only 7 hits on the night. Brunswick did put up the first two runs of the game in the first inning and then cruised through the rest of the game with two runs in the 3rd inning and a pair of single runs in the 4th and 5th inning. Zoie Hamilton took the loss for the Dolphins, giving up five earned runs through 4 innings. Ava Hinson came in during the 4th inning to try and curb the offense streak from the Trojans, but fielding errors overpowered her attempts. Jenna Davis ended the game in the circle facing the last 10 batters.

 

The Dolphins collected a cool eight runs and three stolen bases. Victoria Howard and Annalise Rodriguez led the offense with multiple hits, with Raven Hampton, Madison Strichek collecting single hits on the night. Two trojans were picked off at attempted steals at 2nd and 3rd base by the Short Stop and Catcher combo Howard and Strichek.

 

The Brunswick Community College softball team plays at home this weekend Friday at 3 pm and 5 pm against The Wake Tech Eagles and Sunday at 1 pm and 3 pm against The Louisburg Hurricanes.
