Lady Dolphins Pick Up Three Wins on The Weekend

Friday March 31st Game 1 vs USC Union 10-16 L 

The Dolphins watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 16-10 loss to USCU Bantams on Friday.   

Zoie Hamilton drove in four runs on a homerun in the second and a homerun in the seventh. 

USCU Bantams got things moving in the first inning, when Truett doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring three runs. 

The Dolphins notched five runs in the seventh inning.  The Dolphins' offense in the inning was led by Madison Strichek, Zoie Hamilton, and Lainie Reaves, all driving in runs in the inning. 

The Dolphins smacked three home runs in the game. Madison Strichek had a homer in the seventh inning and Zoie Hamilton went yard in the second and seventh innings. 

Strichek, Hamilton, and Reaves each had multiple hits for the Dolphins. Strichek led the Dolphins with three hits in four at bats. 

 


Friday March 31st Game 2 vs USC Union 11-3 W 

The Dolphins ran off with the lead late in the game in an 11-3 victory over USCU Bantams. The game was tied at three, and in the bottom of the fourth Annalise Rodriguez singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. 

The Dolphins got things started in the first inning when Victoria Howard singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. The Dolphins took the lead for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Jenna Davis hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. Madison Strichek doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, and Zoie Hamilton singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. 

Savannah Birdsong earned the victory on the rubber for the Dolphins. Birdsong surrendered three runs on three hits over six innings, striking out ten and walking one. 

The Dolphins collected 11 hits on the day.  Strichek and Rodriguez each had multiple hits for the Dolphins. Rodriguez and Strichek each managed two hits to lead the Dolphins offensively. The Dolphins tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Jenna Davis led the way with three. 
 

 

Sunday April 2nd Game 1 vs Richard Bland 11-2 W 

The Dolphins defeated Richard Bland Statesmen 11-2 on Sunday. The rally was led by a trio of singles from Lainie Reaves, Madison Strichek, and Zoie Hamilton, a fielder's choice by Jenna Davis, and an error on a ball put in play by Victoria Howard

The Dolphins scored eight runs in the third inning. Howard, Reaves, Davis, Strichek, and Hamilton each had RBIs in the big inning. 

 
Zoie Hamilton got the win for the Dolphins. Hamilton allowed one hit and one run over three innings, striking out three.  Emily Jones threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen, allowing only one run and one hit. 

 

 

Sunday April 2nd Game 2 vs Richard Bland 7-1 W 

With a few runs at a time the Dolphins built a big lead over the Statesmen, taking home a 7-1 victory on Sunday. 

Savannah Birdsong was the winning pitcher for the Dolphins. Birdsong lasted all seven innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out five. 

The Dolphins stood out in the field defensively, quickly recovering from two errors in the field, getting a double play, and making diving catches in the infield.  

The Dolphins racked up ten hits in the game. Annalise Rodriguez and Jenna Davis all had multiple hits for the Dolphins. Rodriguez went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Dolphins in hits.
