Bio

Pete Hughes is from Southbridge, MA. He played Baseball and Basketball at Southbridge High School. Hughes was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 21st round of 1969 MLB Draft out of High School. He would sign with the Pirates and play in their organization for 1 ½ years as a shortstop. Hughes graduated from Boston State College, then would go on to coach baseball on  the High School and American Legion Level. He was an outsides sales representative for a packaging company for 32 years, before retiring to North Carolina in 2017. Hughes and his wife Sue have been married for 39 years and have 2 sons Jack and Brian. Who both played college baseball at St. Joe’s of Maine and Wheaton College in Massachusetts respectively. They both would captain their representing teams their senior years.
