In an exciting season opener, the Brunswick CC Lady Dolphins triumphed over visiting Denmark Technical College (Denmark, SC) with a thrilling 62-60 overtime victory on Thursday night. The Lady Dolphins' tenacious defense and fast-paced transition offense helped them build a 24-14 lead by halftime. However, in the second half, Denmark Technical mounted a comeback with aggressive pressure defense, briefly taking the lead. Some crucial baskets by the Lady Dolphins tied the game at 49 as time expired in regulation. In overtime, the Lady Dolphins surged ahead, but Denmark Technical fought back and briefly claimed a 60-59 lead in the final seconds. It was then that Kayia Starling hit a clutch three-pointer, sealing the victory for Brunswick. The Lady Dolphins' scoring was well-balanced, with Amaya Glenn leading the way with 16 points, followed by Chelsea Rivera with 13, and Princess Canaday and Kayia Starling each contributing 10.
